StratXe: Strategy Execution Platform (Consulting-as-a-Service)
AIA's proprietary strategy execution platform, founded by Hasnayn Ebrahim (AIA Managing Director) in 2017, integrating strategy, performance and people modules to close the information gap between decisions, delivery and reporting — supported by AIA's Project Based Action Learning capacity-building approach.
What it is
A cloud-based strategy-execution platform (StratXe) that aligns strategy, performance management and people modules to close the information gap between decisions, delivery and reporting, positioned by AIA as a shift from engagement-based consulting to an Annual Recurring Revenue, Consulting-as-a-Service (CaaS) model.
Problem it solves
Addresses why strategy execution fails: misaligned leadership, poorly defined initiatives, weak governance, poor performance management and limited agility — all symptoms of information asymmetry between decision-makers and delivery teams.
When to use
- A client has a strategy but lacks the systems to execute, monitor and report on it consistently
- A client wants an ongoing platform relationship rather than a one-off strategy engagement
When not to use
- The client only needs strategy formulation, with no execution/monitoring mandate
Key questions
- Why has strategy execution failed in this organisation?
- Where are the information asymmetries between leadership, delivery teams and reporting?
- How can decisions, delivery and information be more tightly integrated?
Inputs
- Approved strategic plan
- Existing performance and reporting processes
- Internal and external data sources (ERP, workflow, datasets, documents)
Steps
- 1Diagnose execution failure modesIdentify which of the six common failure modes apply: misaligned leadership, poorly defined strategy, poor initiative definition/prioritisation, information/governance asymmetries, weak performance management, limited agility.
- 2Configure the StratXe foundationSet up the Strategy, Performance and People modules (intelligent analysis, performance management, reporting & administration, strategy implementation, operations management).
- 3Embed structured thinking and best-practice repositoriesCombine internal sources (ERP, workflow, documents) and external sources with AIA's structured-thinking approach and best-practice repository.
- 4Apply Project Based Action LearningSecond client staff into the AIA project team so skills transfer 'on the job', reducing long-term dependency on consultants.
- 5Operate the continuous review cycleObserve, ask & direct, respond & alert, review & adjust, update & validate, execute — a continuous update and review loop.
Outputs
- Configured StratXe platform (strategy, performance, people modules)
- Capacitated client secondees
- Ongoing performance reporting and decision support
How to tailor
The platform architecture (Strategy/Performance/People) is fixed; specific KPI sets, dashboards and integrations are configured per client.
