Nkabom · How we work

The operating model

The functions that run the practice, who owns them, the issue in each, and how Project Kilimanjaro systematises it. Every one is the same shape — we do it, but it isn’t institutionalised — which is exactly what this project is for.

This is the control tower for the operating model — the single place to see what runs the practice and where the work is. Knowledge Management is largely solved; Performance, Resourcing and Tenders have their foundations; Business Development and Project Management are the thinnest and the next to institutionalise.

Knowledge Management
Owner · Nigel
Solved
The issue
  • Capture, govern and reuse what we know
In Project Kilimanjaro

Nkabom operating manual · AIA Academy (55 methodologies) · field notes · templates

Next Add a contribute flow so the library stays current as new work lands.
Performance Management
Owner · Raeesa
Foundations laid
The issue
  • No consistent performance management
In Project Kilimanjaro

The performance framework — three KPAs (Originate · Execute · Build), objectives, KPIs and scoring.

Next Turn the framework into a running per-person quarterly scorecard.
Resourcing
Owner · Raeesa
Foundations laid
The issue
  • No integrated view of resourcing utilisation / capacity
In Project Kilimanjaro

The resource database — 362 people, skills, seniority, ladder.

Next Add a utilisation / availability layer — who is free, who is overloaded, who is on what.
Tenders
Owner · Nigel
Foundations laid
The issue
  • No clear defined roster for tender screening
  • No product owner
In Project Kilimanjaro

Tender Desk · review workspace · the bid-team recommender (Āfāq).

Next Define a screening roster / rota; name a product owner for the recommender.
Business Development
Owner · Joseph
Foundations laid
The issue
  • No clear defined process for delivery and allocation
  • Systematising the process (institutionalisation)
In Project Kilimanjaro

The origination pipeline — funnel, tiers and discipline — plus Āfāq surfaces and bid-team allocation.

Next Populate the pipeline with live targets; track the funnel conversion each week.
Project Management
Owner · Joseph
Foundations laid
The issue
  • Systematising the process (institutionalisation)
  • Visibility — colleagues not aware of what needs to happen
  • Onboarding not clear
In Project Kilimanjaro

Nkabom operating manual + a start-here onboarding path + the "what needs to happen" visibility board.

Next Add a defined PM cadence; make the board editable in-app (needs a small data store).
